The Bound Cross Stitch is a simple group of diagonal stitches worked from left to right and then from
right to left. The second group of diagonal stitches cover ("cross") the first group. When complete, a square is pattern is formed. Three diagrams have been used to demonstrate this stitch.
Bound Cross Stitch (Diagram 1):
Bring the needle up at A, move up and to the right over three canvas intersections, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move up and to the right over four canvas intersections, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E, move up and to the right over three canvas intersections, bring the needle down at F. Now, continue on to Diagram 2...
Bound Cross Stitch (Diagram 2):
Beginning where we left off at F, bring the needle up at G, move up and to the left over three canvas intersections, bring the needle down at H. Bring the needle up at I, move up and to the left over four canvas intersections, bring the needle down at J. Bring the needle up at K, move up and to the left over three canvas intersections, bring the needle down at L. This completes the first Bound Cross Stitch. Now, continue on to Diagram 3...
Bound Cross Stitch (Diagram 3):
This diagram illustrates how two rows of bound cross stitches (each row containing two bound cross stitches) should look when complete. Note how each bound cross stitch is worked into the previous bound cross stitch. This also applies for each new row of bound cross stitches.
