Diagonal Knitting Stitch Diagram 1:
Bring the needle up at A. Go up 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at B. Move to the left over 1 canvas thread and go down 2 canvas threads. Bring the needle up at C. Go up 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at D. Move to the left over 1 canvas thread and go down 2 canvas threads. Bring the needle up at E. Go up 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at F. Now, move on to Diagram 2...
Diagonal Knitting Stitch Diagram 2:
Beginning where we left off at F, move over to the left 2 canvas threads and bring the needle up at I. Go down 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at E. This completes the first knitting stitch. Starting where we left off at E, move over to the left 1 canvas thread and go up 2 canvas threads, bring the needle up at H. Go down 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at C. Move over to the left 1 canvas thread and go up 2 canvas threads, bring the needle up at G. Go down 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at A. Now, move on to diagram 3...

Beginning where we left off at A, move over to the left 2 canvas threads and bring the needle up at J. Go up 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at G. Move to the left over 1 canvas thread and go down 2 canvas threads. Bring the needle up at K. Go up 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at H. Move to the left over 1 canvas thread and go down 2 canvas threads. Bring the needle up at L. Go up 4 canvas threads and over to the right 1 canvas thread, bring the needle down at I. Continue in this manner. The sample below shows a completed section of the knitting stitch.

REVERSE TVSTOM KNITTING VARIATION STITCH
stitch" is derived from the knitting texture appearance. This texture occurs when the stitch is worked using coarse thread. The term "tapestry stitch" is derived from it's woven tapestry appearance. This texture occurs when the stitch is worked using fine thread. There are a few variations of the knitting stitch. Here, we have demonstrated the regular knitting stitch, a second knitting stitch variation called reverse bargello and a third variation of this stitch called the reverse tvistom knitting variation stitch. The Reverse Bargello is also referred to as the diagonal knitting stitch. Multiple diagrams have been used to demonstrate each stitch.
Knitting Stitch (Diagram 1):
Bring the needle up at A, move up and bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C (splitting the double canvas to move the needle through). Now, continue on to Diagram 2...
Knitting Stitch (Diagram 2):
Beginning where we left off at C, move up and to the right, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E (splitting the double canvas to move the needle through). Continue working in this manner until the row is complete. Now, continue on to Diagram 2...
Knitting Stitch (Diagram 3):
This diagram illustrates how to work the first stitch on the downward journey. If you were to turn at D, follow the red arrows and simply work the stitch in the same manner.
Reverse Tvstom Knitting Stitch (Diagram 1):
To make this diagram easier to follow, two colors (light blue and dark blue) have been used to illustrate this stitch. Bring the needle up at A, move up over two canvas threads and to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move up over two canvas threads and to the left over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E, move up over two canvas threads and to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at F. Bring the needle up at G, move up over two canvas threads and to the left over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at H. Bring the needle up at C, move up over two canvas threads and to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at I. Bring the needle up at J, move up over two canvas threads and to the left over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at B. Now, continue on to Diagram 2...
