easily be adjusted to fit your piece It may also be worked as a background or filling stitch. The Horizontal Ming Stitch is another variation of this versital stitch. Basically, the horizontal version is simply the regular Ming Stitch turned sideways. Three diagrams have been used to demonstrate this stitch, plus an extra diagram for the horizontal version.
Ming Stitch (Diagram 1):
Bring the needle up at A, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at F. Bring the needle up at G, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at H. Bring the needle up at I, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at J. Bring the needle up at K, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at L. Bring the needle up at M, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at C. Bring the needle up at N, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at E. Bring the needle up at O, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at G. Bring the needle up at P, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at Q. Now, continue on to Diagram 2...

Bring the needle up at S, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at T. Bring the needle up at U, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at V. Bring the needle up at W, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at X. Bring the needle up at Y, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at Z. Bring the needle up at Q, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at I. Bring the needle up at AA, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at S. Bring the needle up at BB, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at U. Bring the needle up at CC, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at W. Bring the needle up at DD, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at EE. Bring the needle up at FF, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at P. Bring the needle up at GG, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at AA. Bring the needle up at HH, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at BB. Bring the needle up at II, move to the right over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at CC. Bring the needle up at JJ, move to the right over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at KK.
