Straight Cross Stitch. Although they are worked in a similar manner and form large, raised stitches, the Leviathan Stitches differ in shape. Leviathan Stitches form a square-shaped stitch as opposed to the Double Straight Cross Stitch, which forms a diamond-shaped stitch. This decorative stitch works well as a corner and/or border stitch. There are also other variations of this stitch, the double leviathan stitch and the triple leviathan stitch. Three diagrams have been used to demonstrate this stitch.
